manKostas Tsartsaris was born in Veria on October 17th, 1979, he made his first basketball steps at GE Veria and then moved to Filippos Verias in 1995. In 1997 he was transferred to the Icelandic Gkrintavik, winning the Icelandic Cup and awarded as the best rebounder of the Icelandic league (and third best in Europe) with an average of 16.4 rebounds per game.

In 1998, Kostas, returned to Greece and was signed by Near East BC, which participated in the A1 league. That season he received the title of “Rookie of the year”. The following year he was transferred to Peristeri BC and played until 2002, when he made the big move to Panathinaikos. With Panathinaikos he played for 11 consecutive seasons and won a total of 21 titles:

    • 10 Greek Championships: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013
    • 8 Greek Cups: 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013
    • 3 Euroleague Championships: 2007, 2009, 2011

At a personal level, the most significant achievement was being awarded the best player (MVP) of the Greek final Cup for three consecutive years (2006, 2007 and 2008). Moreover he was selected to participate in 8 Greek League All-Star Games (2001, 2002, 2004-2009).

In June 2013, after conquering the double in Greece, by winning both the Greek League and Greek Cup in the same season, Kostas, announced his decision to finish his career full of titles.

He has 136 participations with the Greek National basketball team, and was member of the team that won the gold medal at EuroBasket 2005 and the silver medal at the World Championship 2006.

Kostas holds an A’ Level coaching diploma.
